Veterans/Memorial Day Poem, #231

"FREEDOM'S CALL"

When our boys went to war,
to answer our country's call,
To come home as men
and tellof the things they saw.

And to the wives and sweethearts that gave them up so they could do their job,
To have them come home walking,
Or read their name upon a Wall.

Remember them now, as you did back then,
their shy face, that funny little grin,
Remember what they fought for,
remember why they went, remember wht they died for, For they are Heaven sent.

Speak their names in the grave ysrds,
speak their names upon the WALL,
But speak of them proudly,
And speakof them all.

For they are not with us now,
For they are Heaven sent,
They gave the surprime scarefice,
And have answered"FREEDOM'S CALL '
