Default The Come Command

The Come Command

HOWEDY People,

Most folks take their first look-see at their new
puppy at their breeder's or pet shop and walk HOWETA
there with their new beast friend forever.

First thing is a trip to the vet and the pet shop
to buy the new crate if the breeder didn't sell
it to them with the pup and abHOWET WON or two
hundred bucks in mostly useless supplies.

Then the pup goes to his new HOWES where he's
watched and locked in a box like a criminal
and made to drag arHOWEND a leash for a couple
of days with a flat collar on his neck and gently
scolded and punished for his normal natural innate
instinctive reflexive behaviors like MHOWETHING or
JUMPING to BOND and make pals.

The pup is then entered into puppy SOCIALIZATION
classes where he's taught the NO command bribed
scolded and sprayed with aversives or ignored when
IT cries and the flat collar is soon replaced with
a pronged spiked pinch choke collar on accHOWENT
of they're MOORE GENTLE than an ordinary slip choke
collar and gently guide the puppy like P-HOWER
steerin to do as it's told when bribing the dog
fails to train IT not to do the behaviors you're
trying to bribe IT not to do noMOORE and chin
chucked scruff shaked and alphalpha rolled and
taught S-HOWEND DISTRACTION:

captain arthur haggerty SEZ: "A CHIN CHUCK" Makes
A Resounding Sound Distraction: "When You Chuck
The Dog The Sound Will Travel Up The Mandible To
The Ears And Give A Popping Sound To The Dog."

lyinglynn writes to a new foster care giver:
For barking in the crate - leave the leash on and
pass it through the crate door. Attach a line to it.
When he barks, use the line for a correction.

- if necessary, go to a citronella bark collar.

At four months the puppy is ready for MOORE
seriHOWES corrections (according to lying frosty
dahl) and basic obedience classes begin for the
next two months. Then it's on to advanced obedience
for a couple MOORE months till the puppy reaches
his adolescent rebelliHOWES stage at 8-9 months.

"Granted That The Dog Who Fears Retribution
Will Adore His Owner," lying "I LOVE KOEHLER"
lynn.

Borrowed from: "Puppy Raising Tips" from
professional trainers, John and Amy Dahl.

"Around four months many puppies can withstand a
correction. Unfortunately this is the time they start
teething and if their mouth hurts, they may act
generally sensitive. If this is the case, be patient and
wait for all those baby teeth to fall out.

In training, retrievers often respond to physical correction
better than verbal correction. While "NO!" is extremely
useful if puppy is about to bite an electrical cord or steal
food off the table, when you are teaching them something
(like obedience) a sharp jerk on their lead or swat with a
stick gets the message across with less emotion and less
effect on their confidence.

If they drop the dummy and act like their mouth hurts
when they are teething, stop all retrieving and wait for
their mouth to feel better. A correction should be just
severe enough to get the dog to respond.

Repeated weak corrections are very stressful to the dog."

SomeHOWE through the MAGICK of traditional
dog trainin you've taken a perfectly good puppy
who'd follow you anywhere and do anything you
ask and taught IT to hold HOWET on doin behaviors
to elicit bribes, to DO bad behaviors to elicit bribes
or an alternate incompatible behavior and develop
a myriad of STRESS INDUCED AUTO-IMMUNE DIS-EASES
and NEUROTIC BEHAVIORS like most of the dog lover's
dogs we got postin here abHOWETS GOT <{) ; ~ ) >

Then you wonder HOWE COME your dog won't come when
you call and WONDER if maybe you should invest in
another trainin class or buy a nice shock collar
to make your beast friend not RUN HOWET on you
when you call IT. Or if you've been REAL successful
you may go on to COMEPETE in the dog obedience ring
or field trials:

Not necessarily. Remember that there is value added
to the treat by virtue of getting it from the handler as a
reward.

That's the reason I handfed Java for a week.

To add value to the food.

It isn't just another piece of kibble when it
comes from Mom as a reward.

You deserve it! You have my empathy on the heeling
problem. 2 of 29 qualified in Open A & B this morning
at Sacramento - ring fouled overnight by conformation
people exercising their dogs.

A Borzoi vomited on the spot, a Rottie peed on it, and
almost every other dog (including Java) dropped their
nose to the spot and started tracking.

ARRRGH!
