I got taken to the cleaners IMO by All Creatures in Ledbury Road
Peterborough, for a cat with a bite on its paw turned septic. The bill states: Anaesthesia: £56.48 plus VAT. This is more than their standard charge for castrating a large dog. Consultation fees: £44.99 plus VAT. This is cleaning up the wound presumably. Drug charges: (antibiotic drops) £16.38 plus VAT. I didn't get an option on these, they made up the mixture and stuck the label on before I arrived, and the cat has refused the tainted food. If I want tablets, which I could have easily given him, I have to pay again, another £16 I suppose. Injection fee: £13.54 plus VAT This is for one dose of antibiotics. Routine procedures: £17.10 plus VAT. This is for trimming off burrs while he's under the anaesthetic. It's my worthless opinion that they looked at me, looked at the amount they needed to take that day (the surgery was empty) and worked back from there to a grand total of £175 and no returns. Now than, how long does it take the rest of us to accumulate this kind of dosh.? Half a week? I am still foaming at the mouth. |
