Sorry to keep mentioning this but it could be an insect sting and the
lip in a very fine place for them sink their suckers, especially if she
was trying to eat a bee or wasp.

Last year a cat I was caring for actually swallowed a wasp (I saw it
happen). It obviously stung his palate because he wouldn't touch food
for a few days and was very hyper.

Hi James ,
I never thought of that, mainly because it happened before , late
in the year when there were no bees around . I bet a lot of pets get
stung by bees because they don't realise they're dangerous.
Judy , my last dog , got stung on her bum once. She was out in the
garden and suddenly went nuts and I found the sting still in her.

PS I have a name for Kims condition. Its on the web site below . She
is going back to the vet tomorrow . I remembered today that I used
Acclaim on the carpets and furnishings last week so it must have
caused the allergy They also have info about food allergies and
inhalent allergies.
